  • Bristol Avon WaterBlitz 2017

    Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership logo

The WaterBlitz is a campaign to collect as many water quality samples as possible in a week from across the Bristol Avon Catchment. Organised by The Bristol Avon Rivers Trust with support from the Bristol Avon Catchment Partnership and in partnership with FreshWater Watch, the 2017 Bristol Avon WaterBlitz took place in June.

This project gained an invaluable snapshot of the health of our rivers that will help to direct future conservation effort. Find out more about the results from WaterBlitz 2017.

This year's WaterBlitz followed on from the success of the first ever event in 2016. Here is a summary of the results from that year: WaterBlitz 2016 Fact Sheet

If you were not able to take part in 2017 but want to take part in some way, please see How can I stay involved in the future? below.

    2016 Results

During the Bristol Avon WaterBlitz, more than 170 people took part and collected a water sample from their local river or stream. During the two week campaign, 92 water quality tests were recorded from a wide range of water courses across the catchment; with many small streams that are not regularly monitored being sampled. The interactive results map below, shows all the results collected and how the water quality compares between different rivers and streams.

How can I stay involved in the future?
