Working with schools

Our team of education advisers work with hundreds of schools and thousands of students every year.

They cover a range of topics including the water cycle, river studies, human impact on the environment, water and sewage treatment and climate change.

Please note: due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) lockdown our service has had to change as follows:

Site visits:

Our sites are not open for visits. However we are inviting schools to book vis-its from January 2021 at the following four sites: Holdenhurst, Trowbridge, Ashford and Weston-super-Mare. Social distancing and extra measures will be in place when these sites reopen.

School visits:

Our advisers are able to visit your school to offer workshops to small groups or one ‘bubble’ at a time (preferably outdoors). Social distancing and government guidelines regarding safe practice will be followed at all times.

Virtual sessions:

During the lockdown our education advisers are continuing to offer virtual sessions and assemblies via Teams or Zoom.

To arrange one of the above for your school, please fill in our booking form. One of our education advisers will be in touch to discuss your booking once we receive your request.

Careers

We support schools in highlighting potential career paths for students.

Many of our jobs require STEM skills but there are just as many jobs needing other skills to support our water supply and sewage treatment operations.

We welcome the opportunity to talk to your students about all our careers.

We can come to you...

We visit on most days throughout the school year, delivering a range of services from a short school assembly to classroom learning.

With each visit, we design a programme to tie in with your objectives and class teaching.
