Going back to unmetered charges

If you have switched to a water meter, you have up to two years to change your mind.

When can you switch back?

You can switch back to unmetered charges at any time during the first two years of having a meter.

Your option to go back to unmetered charges ends 30 days after you have received the bill at the end of your second year.

Switching back at the end of two years

You will need to keep your meter for the full two years to qualify for our Money Back Guarantee.

If you haven’t saved money after two years, get in touch within 30 days of receiving the bill at the end of your second year to switch back. We will then credit your account with any overpayments.

Switching back within two years

If you want to return to unmetered charges within two years, you will not qualify for our Money Back Guarantee.

This means if you haven’t saved money during this period, we will not credit your account with any overpayments, and you’ll pay for our services based on our metered charges up to the date you switch back.

When can’t you switch back?

You will not be able to switch back to unmetered charges if you have:

  • had a meter for more than two years
  • opted for a meter twice at the same address
  • had a meter fitted through our change of occupier initiative.
