Close your account

If you’re leaving our area, you can close your account online or over the phone.


You will also need to close your account if you are moving within our area but will no longer be responsible for paying the bills.

Before you start

You will need the following:

  • your customer number (if known)
  • your old address and the date you move/moved out
  • your new address.

If your current property is metered

You can provide a meter reading from the property you're moving out of to ensure your bill is accurate. See our advice on how to find and read your meter.

If you do not provide a meter reading, your bill will be based on an estimated reading.

If you can't read your meter, please contact us at least five working days before you move out and we will arrange for someone to do it for you.

Close your account

Completing our online form is the easiest way to close your account, but you can also close it by calling us.
