Pay by Direct Debit
You can set up or amend a Direct Debit online.
Paying by Direct Debit allows you to spread your bill over monthly payments and choose a payment date that suits you.
You can amend your payment date and frequency, as well as the bank account you want to pay from, whenever you want.
Before you start
To set up or amend a Direct Debit, you will need:
- your personal details
- your customer number (if known) - you can find this on your latest bill
- your bank account details.
Set up or amend a Direct Debit
The easiest way to set up or amend a Direct Debit is by completing our online form.
If you're a metered customer
Metered customers receive two bills a year. You can pay them by Direct Debit over 12 months or twice a year.
If you pay your bill monthly, you will build up credit through your monthly payments.
We review your monthly payments once a year and adjust them based on your usage, the balance on your account, and any changes in charges. We aim to read your meter twice throughout the year.
If you’re an unmetered customer
Unmetered customers receive one bill a year. You can pay it by Direct Debit over 10 months or twice a year.
Alternatively, you will still have the option to pay it in full when you receive it.
If your payments are set to change
We will notify you if your monthly payments are set to change.
It will become effective within 10 working days of your next payment (unless you receive different advice).
